Qatar Petroleum will hold the eighth edition of the QP Environment Fair from today until April 26 at the Qatar National Convention Centre under the patronage of HE Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry and CMD of QP.

Up to eight QP directorates and departments as well as 29 companies and organisations are set to showcase their environmental initiatives at this year’s event, whose theme is “Use of Water in the Oil and Gas Industry”.

“This year’s QP Environment Fair will provide a true opportunity for participants and visitors to view  new features that highlight the wide range of environmental programmes and activities currently being implemented by QP and by many other companies and organisations,” said Abdulrahman Abdullah al-Obaidli, Public Relations and Communications manager of QP.

Launched in 2004, the event is being organised by QP’s Public Relations and Communications Department.

A large number of QP subsidiaries and joint ventures, industry stakeholders and government entities will also take part in the event.

Besides the exhibition, this year’s edition of the QP Environment Fair will feature a wide range of entertaining and educational activities for students and the entire family. Among the scheduled activities are the plays ‘The Lost Treasure’ and ‘Tarsheed’. There will also be technical presentations revolving around the theme of the event today and tomorrow.

The exhibition will be open to the general public and about 30 schools in Qatar have accepted an invitation to bring their students to the event. The total of number of students to visit the fair is expected to exceed 1,000.

The exhibition timings are from 10.30am to 1pm and then from 4pm to 7pm today; from 7.30 am to 1 pm and then from 4pm to 8pm tomorrow and on Saturday; and from 2pm to 7pm on Friday.
