A total of 43 Qatari entrepreneurs have completed a business training programme launched by Enterprise Qatar (EQ).

“The new graduates are part of the third batch of entrepreneurs that have completed the training since it was launched last February,” said Ibrahim al-Mannai, director of learning and development at EQ, in a statement.

“It is with great pride that we honour the third batch of the EQ entrepreneurship programme that aims to nurture the Qatari youth’s business ambitions,” al-Mannai said.

He added: “This course has proven to be a great success among the young generation in such a short period of time because it arms them with all the necessary knowledge and skills they need to embark on their individual business journeys.”

Al-Mannai noted that the growing interest in the “EQ entrepreneurship programme” could help “foster a new generation of savvy Qatari business owners, who will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the national economy.”

The courses completed by the graduates include: basic concept of entrepreneurship, principles of setting up small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), selecting a winning business idea, and the acquisition of the basic SME management skills such as strategic and business planning, marketing, management, financial auditing, and conducting
feasibility studies.

Through the entrepreneurship programme, Al-Mannai said, EQ adopts the latest theoretical, practical and digital teaching methods to incorporate presentations, business simulation and business plans, as well as one-on-one and group coaching.

According to the EQ director, the Enterprise also aims “to spread awareness among the youth in Qatar about the importance of SMEs and their subsequent contribution to the diversification the local economy.

“With the increasing interest in its courses and workshops, EQ is expected to expand its offerings in the near future in order to cater to all types of business persons including budding entrepreneurs and SMEs owners seeking diversification,” al-Mannai said.
