Qatar will experience a peak temperature of 41C today also, the Met office sources forecast yesterday. The maximum temperature yesterday was 41C.

Temperatures today will hover between 29 and 41C and winds will be stronger in the evening. Doha, Mesaieed and Mukheniz experienced temperatures of 40-41C yesterday.

While inshore areas may experience winds in the range of 15-25 knots, offshore they could be anywhere between 15 and 22 knots, said a forecaster, who also indicated the chances of dusty conditions setting in later in the day, leading to rather poor visibility in many parts of the country.

The fishermen have been cautioned as the sea is expected to be little volatile in the afternoon.

While acknowledging that this has been the hottest April in the last five years with the temperatures already touching the 41C mark yesterday, the Met office said more hotter days are in the offing in the month.

A weatherman recalled the country had experienced 45C in April more than a decade ago.
