The Central Municipal Council (CMC) recently invited members of the school council of the Ghernata Independent Preparatory School for Girls to introduce them to the council’s democratic experiences and practices. CMC vice chairman Jassim al-Malki explained to the girls the main legal requirements for the election process, candidature and voting rights. He also briefed them about the major jurisdictions of the council and the work mechanism within the various CMC offices and divisions and its specialised committees. He highlighted the services that the council provides to the society and how it communicates with people to address their needs. The photo shows the school representatives with the CMC members.
