Leshtah Festival 2014 at Katara - the Culture Village has been a major attraction for families in Doha.

The festival, which concludes tomorrow, features an array of fun, entertaining and educational activities, with a special focus for children.

Children were given an opportunity to draw and colour freely, besides being able to perform some traditional folk games.

Various activities conducted by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and Qatar Armed Forces focused on proper driving etiquette and the importance of abiding by the country’s rules and regulations.

The General Directorate of Civil Defence organised awareness programmes on how to enhance safety and security at home and in other places.

Al Jazeera Children’s Channel attracted a considerable number of spectators through its programme, “The World of Science”, presenting live scientific experiments that seek to actively engage children in the process.

Katara distributed gifts and memorabilia among visitors and sought to provide premier entertainment. “The featured activities of Leshtah Festival reflect the original deep-rooted Qatari heritage and incorporate the positive participation of a number of key entities in the country to offer the best to our visitors,” said Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager, Katara.
