Senior judicial officials from Qatar and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday with the aim of strengthening the judicial system in both countries through regular exchange of judicial officials in the prosecution departments of the two nations.
Attorney-General of Qatar HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri and Turkey judicial minister Saale Ergoan were signatories to the MoU. Besides being the chairman of the legal committee of the Turkish parliament, Ergoan is also a parliamentarian from Ankara district.
The officials of the two countries expressed hope that through the signing of the MoU, the prosecution departments of the two countries could introduce some notable changes in their functioning.
The officials also hoped that regular interaction in training programmes would contribute to remarkable improvement in the quality of services in the prosecution departments.
