QP’s HSE regulations and enforcement directorate organised a workshop on “The sharing of good practices in sustainable development reporting” as part of the energy and industry sector’s preparation for the 2013 Sustainable Development Industry Report (SDIR).
Saif Saed al-Naimi, director, HSE regulations and enforcement at QP, expressed gratitude and appreciation to HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada for his guidance and support to the SDIR
programme.
The one-day workshop, which was held at Sharq Village & Spa, was attended by some 95 key HSE personnel representing about 30 companies from Qatar’s oil and gas sector.
The participants provided valuable inputs in continuously improving the sustainable development reporting process.
The workshop featured speakers from QP, Qatar Statistics Authority, Ernst & Young, RasGas, Dolphin Energy, Qatar Steel, Mesaieed Power Company and Qatar Fuel Additives
Company (Qafac).
The presentations focused on the role of industry reporting on the environment statistics of Qatar, external assurance and verification of sustainability reporting, and good practices in reporting achievements, challenges and focus areas.
Al-Naimi thanked the oil and gas operators for their commitment and contribution to the sustainable development reporting initiative as it entered its fourth reporting year, stressing that the programme was in line with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011-2016.
