The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has  started receiving employment and scholarship applications for Qatari nationals at its booth at the Qatar Career Fair currently being held at the Qatar National Conventions Centre.
A large number of young Qataris expressed their interest in career opportunities at HMC and have already been invited to submit their applications at the booth.
“We are accepting applications from candidates who have at least completed their high school education regardless of the completion date. We would like to encourage Qatari nationals who also have professional experience to apply,” HMC Human Resources acting executive director Fatima Haider said.
Haider said that HMC offers scholarships in different fields of study including medicine, nursing, engineering, business administration, accounting, physiotherapy, pharmacy, lab science, radiology and socials works.
The duration of study varies depending on the field of study; however HMC sponsors education fees and offers students financial assistance during the period of study.
The corporation also ensures careers at its facilities as soon as students complete their education.
“HMC invites high school students who have recently graduated to apply for scholarships. Students who are granted scholarships will be employed at HMC after they finish their education. We aim to attract students and to introduce the scholarships we offer to them,” Haider stated.
“HMC currently sponsors 40 students who are studying to obtain diplomas in allied health professions and nine students completing business administration diplomas. As for Bachelor’s degrees, we currently have 66 students studying nursing and seven students studying social work, laboratory science and office administration,” the official said.
Human Resources assistant executive director Mohamed Mubarak al-Nuaimi invited Qatari youth and those seeking a new career to visit HMC’s booth at QCF to identify employment opportunities and scholarships saying: “With the great expansion plans we are currently implementing, HMC is in a position to offer career opportunities in a wide range of areas. Our staff at the stand are receiving applications and presenting them to the appropriate HMC departments. Then candidates are selected and interviewed at QCF. If they pass the interview, they will be immediately given the offer. The same process is applied for nationals who wish to apply for scholarships.”
Interested candidates can visit HMC’s stand in Hall 8 at the career fair and meet with representatives from the Human Resources Department.
