The Almuftah Group organised a “Walk for Health” event for its employees and their families to celebrate National Sport Day.  With the Q-Post building on the Corniche as their starting point, hundreds of employees from the Qatar-based business group walked all the way to the Sheraton roundabout to mark the occasion.
Almuftah Group managing director Ibrahim Almuftah said the company’s participation in the National Sport Day events highlighted its support of the state’s initiative to create a sporting culture in the country. “We recognise the vital role a healthy lifestyle can play in the well-being and productivity of our associates, and in the sustainable progress of Qatar as a whole. Besides offering health benefits and motivating people to perform better at work, we also believe that engaging in sports is a great way to inspire camaraderie and goodwill among colleagues and families alike. We would like to thank everyone for the enthusiasm they have shown,” he said, lauding the organising committee for its efforts and the employees and their families for their participation.
The participants had planned weeks in advance for the walk, signing up for the official shirts worn on the day. The event was supported by Anytime Fitness, a 24-hour fitness franchise that is expanding in the Middle East through the Almuftah Group, starting with Qatar.
