Al Jazeera joined a host of local and international media organisations as well as companies from various industries seeking graduates and interns interested in news, public relations, strategic communications and film production at Northwestern University in Qatar’s third annual Career and Internship Fair.
Elaine Hatzel, head of training and development at Al Jazeera, said: “NU-Q is an important educational institution for Al Jazeera to have a relationship with. We are very interested in the students here, as we are ultimately looking for people who share our values and our enthusiasm to tell a story to the world. This doesn’t include journalists only, but a whole spectrum of communication professionals who are involved in making our TV network successful.”
The attending companies included Qatar Airways, Doha News, Qatar Museum Authority, Silatech, ExxonMobil, Firefly Digital Communications, Doha Film Institute and Qatar TV. “It’s fascinating to see the range of organisations that need communication professionals to support them regardless of the industry in which they operate,” said communication junior Rawan al-Thabatah.
