Space scientist Roddam Narasimha, industrialist Adi Godrej and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt were among a galaxy of individuals conferred Padma awards by President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi yesterday. The president presented two Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 38 Padma Shri awards. Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde were among those who attended the ceremony. Narasimha (science and engineering) and Sayed Haider Raza (art) were given Padma Vibhushans, while boxer M C Mary Kom, Godrej, actors Rajesh Khanna (posthumous) and Jaspal Singh Bhatti (posthumous) were among those given Padma Bhushans. Kom was not present at the function.
