This year Qatar is celebrating Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture, continuing its tradition of taking Qatar to the world and bringing the world to Qatar.

In an effort to bring Brazilian hospitality and authentic dining experiences to Qatar, the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel invites patrons to enjoy the spirit of Brazil at its award-winning restaurant Ipanema for the occasion of the Brazilian Independence Day celebration.

The calendar is filled with a four-day celebration at Ipanema, the hotel’s Brazilian Churrascaria, culminating on the Brazilian Independence Day, commonly called “Sete de Setembro”.

The Sete de Setembro, is a national holiday observed in Brazil on September 7 of every year. The date celebrates Brazil’s Declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves on September 7, 1822.

The “Sete de Setembro” celebration from the largest country in both South America and the Latin American region will be taking over Ipanema restaurant from September 4-7, complete with Capoeira dance performances, its live Brazilian Samba Band Brazuqa, Bahia-inspired food and traditional cocktails.

The restaurant also offers an enticing range of sizzling meats, carved at the tables by Passadores. Prime meats like spicy Linguica, juicy Picanha, char-grilled chicken and lamb are cooked live on an open pit. Also on offer is a tantalising selection of salads, sides and delicious desserts.

Ipanema, the authentic Brazilian Churrascaria in Doha, won the 2014 Time Out Doha Restaurant Awards for “Best Latin American” cuisine. The team of expert chefs will be taking Ipanema to new heights with four full days of “Sete de Setembro” celebrations, bringing a swinging pace to their authentic Brazilian outfits.
