PPWA officials and guests at the programme

Rich tributes were paid to Pakistan People’s Party leader and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto at a programme organised by Pak People’s Welfare Association (PPWA) on her fourth death anniversary in Doha recently.
Benazir Bhutto was the first woman prime minister of the Muslim world. She was killed four years ago in a bomb blast and firing incident during the tenure of military ruler General Pervez Musharaf.
Holy Qur’an recitation was held on the occasion as part of the programme.
Addressing to the gathering, forum president Mohamed Azim Khan paid tributes to the slain leader and said she was not only the chairperson of her political party but she was the leader of all Pakistan.
He regarded the day of her death as the most unfortunate and damaging for the struggle of democracy in Pakistan.
Khan highlighted the major achievements of the Zardari government and strong relations between Qatar and Pakistan.
Chaudhary Mohamed Ashraf, General Secretary of PPWA also spoke.
