The body of an Indian expatriate has been found hanging in his villa car porch in Rawdha area yesterday.
The deceased, identified as Tomy Varghese (42), was working as a secretary at  Nabina Trading Establishment on Airport Road, and hailed from Mepral in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth (Qatar Foundation) and children Noah (Birla Public School) and Naomi. Varghese had complained of illness and had received treatment at a private medical centre a few days ago. The centre had reportedly referred him to Hamad General Hospital, according to one of his colleagues.  Varghese, who did not go to office yesterday, had apparently sent an SMS in the morning to one of his colleagues, requesting repatriation of his body to Kerala. On receiving the message, the colleague reportedly rushed to Varghese’s house, to only find his body hanging. Varghese’s children were asleep and his wife had gone to office, when the death presumably took place. Friends of Tiruvalla (Fota) of which Varghese was a member,  has postponed its annual gathering tonight and has condoled the member’s death. Arrangements are being made to send the body to India.
