La Cigale is offering a number of gastronomic treats at its various outlets for Christmas

With only one day to go until Christmas Day, residents of Qatar have already been enjoying the wide selection of festive activities taking place at hotels, with many more celebrations to be held today and Sunday to mark this special time of the year.
Whether it be a festive afternoon tea, Christmas caroling or a festive feast, a wide array of special offers and events are being hosted by various hotels across Doha, welcoming guests to enjoy the festive season in style.
Grand Hyatt Doha has organised a number of different events over the coming days, with a Christmas brunch held yesterday in the Grill and festive music provided by resident DJ Mark Bambach, as well as a poolside BBQ at Rocca and a ‘Copacabana’ party in the evening.
Christmas Eve will feature a set dinner at the Grill as well as an Asian-inspired Christmas dinner at Thai restaurant, Isaan. Santa Claus will also be visiting the hotel today and Christmas Day to distribute gifts to younger guests and visitors.
Christmas Day lunch will be hosted in the Grill, where guests will be able to sample traditional Christmas fare and seafood, while being entertained by Avis Ellis and KC Cousin.
“There’s something for everyone in Grand Hyatt Doha’s exciting and colourful programme of special events over this Christmas season 2011,” said a
spokesperson.

The Gingerbread House at the InterContinental Doha, offering a selection of Christmas treats
The InterContinental Doha will begin its celebrations today evening, with special turkey dishes on offer at Paloma. The Café Restaurant is holding a buffet with Christmas treats, with set menu dinners in Belgian Café and Mykonos.
“This year, InterContinental Doha has lined up a vast array of choices to assist you in bringing family, friends and colleagues together in celebration of a peaceful and merry festive period,” said a spokesperson.
A Christmas Day buffet will be held in the Al Wajba ballroom, which will feature a number of activities for children, including a visit from Santa. And once again, Belgian Café and Mykonos are offering special set menu dinners.
The InterCon is also taking orders for takeaway turkeys until Monday (December 26), and is offering a selection of treats and Christmas hampers at its Gingerbread house.
La Cigale is hosting a number of special dining events for Christmas, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy gastronomic treats.
“If you are looking for the warm feeling of Christmas, Le Cigalon, Le Central and Di Capri are prepared to carry your celebrations with handpicked cuisine and the finest atmosphere on the eve and day of this occasion,” said a hotel representative.
Le Cigalon will present an international buffet featuring traditional Christmas food, while Le Central offers a four course menu and Di Capri presents a four course Italian ‘feast.’
And La Cigale Traiteur will once again offer customers the chance to enjoy a wide array of Christmas treats in their own homes.
The Ramada Plaza is also presenting a wide selection of offers and special events over the coming weeks to mark the festive season. For Christmas Eve, Maxim, Bentley’s and Pier 12 are offering special dinner menus.
Ramada employees will also embrace the spirit of Christmas today evening with performances of Christmas carols in the East wing at 5pm and the West wing at 5.45pm.
Tomorrow, Christmas dinners will be hosted in Maxim and Bentley’s while Hyde Park will present a Christmas Day brunch.
The hotel is also helping people enjoy Christmas in their own homes, with a large selection of festive treats available from Palm Garden’s Christmas Wonderland, and the takeaway turkey offer, which runs until December 31.
“Whether for your office get together, formal company dinners, dining with friends or a special time spent with your family, make this festive season a truly memorable one at Ramada Plaza Doha,” said a hotel spokesperson.
The Ritz-Carlton Doha has already invited guests to enjoy Christmas carol concerts and other activities, such as ‘photographs with Santa,’ with more set to take place in the coming days.
Christmas carols will also be sung today at 5pm in the hotel lobby, and 1pm tomorrow in the Al Wosail ballroom.  Porcini and La Mer are hosting special Christmas Eve dinners, and Christmas Day will feature a brunch in the hotel’s ballroom.  Afternoon tea, always popular around the Christmas period, will continue until today in the lobby, and the hotel is also offering takeaway turkeys until
Boxing Day.
The annual Winter Market at the Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel has returned for guests, who are able to enjoy the Christmas spirit in the hotel’s lobby from 6.30pm every day until Boxing Day.
“This year we bring more fun and excitement spirit with full of surprises,” said a hotel representative, adding “take a walk through our Winter Market and allow our festivity chefs to prepare your favorite holiday delicacies right in front of you.”
The Sheraton Doha Choir will also be performing their renditions of Christmas Carols during the festive season, with visits from Santa Claus to delight younger visitors. The hotel is also hosting a number of special dinner offers for Christmas Eve.
