Vodafone Qatar yesterday named the lucky winners of the two competitions it ran during National Day. Out of hundreds of entries, Ahmad al-Darwish was chosen as the winner of Vodafone’s “Share your Pride and Win” competition for the best decorated car.
An ecstatic al-Darwish was handed his prizes at the winner’s announcement, which took place on Thursday evening at Villaggio, consisting of QR10, 000, Vodafone’s National Day Trophy, a special Star number and the new iPhone 4S.
“Share your Pride and Win” was open to everyone in Qatar to decorate their cars in a creative way then simply upload a picture of the car to Vodafone’s specially created National Day website. In addition, Vodafone had photographers along the Corniche grabbing photos of all the amazingly decorated cars. All of the entries to the competition can be viewed at

As for Vodafone’s art competition “Qatari and Proud” open to four schools in Doha, it too was very popular with the school children.  There were 10 winners chosen from each school where the top winner in each school got the chance to win a BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 with a Vodafone connection.
“Vodafone Qatar is extremely proud to have been able to share the joy of the National Day with the public and to have had the chance to enhance the sense of national pride, for all people living in Qatar.  We would like to congratulate all winners and we look forward to celebrating next year’s National Day with many more to come from Vodafone Qatar,” said John Saad, chief marketing officer, Vodafone Qatar.
