Qapco’s Qatari employees at the Qatarisation Day event

The objective is to achieve a 50% quality national workforce in the field of energy and industry.
Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) has celebrated its annual Qatarisation Day under the theme ‘The Big 30,’ marking 30 years of production, 30 offices worldwide and achieving a 30% national workforce.
The event was attended by chairman and CEO Dr Mohamed Yousef al-Mulla, group managers, department managers, Qatari senior and intermediate staff and various local university representatives.
The Qapco Qatarisation Day was established in 2010, in recognition of the individual efforts and achievements of its Qatari employees, and also to award the best departments for achieving Qatarisation, goals and academic excellence recognition.
During the event, Kuwaiti Islamic author and speaker Dr Tareq Mohamed al-Suwaidan led a motivational seminar for the employees on leadership and strategic planning.
Dr al-Suwaidan is frequently consulted by prominent regional governmental and private sector organisations.
Dr al-Mulla said the Qatarisation process in Qapco is in line with the Strategic Qatarisation Plan initiated by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani  and directives for the energy sector from Minister of Energy and Industry HE Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada.
The objective is to achieve a 50% quality national workforce in the field of energy and industry.
“Qapco takes pride in awarding its Qatari employees for outstanding academic excellence, and for their dedication and excellence at work and praised the efforts of Learning Development and all departments in assisting to achieve the 30% workforce Qatarisation,” Dr al-Mulla said.
Human Resources Learning and Development Manager Nasser al-Hajri said Qapco’s Qatarisation Award is to recognise and encourage quality Qatarisation.
“It has been our earnest endeavour to ensure that Qatari nationals with the appropriate qualifications are recruited, developed, and retained for career employment in the company,” he said.
Qapco takes all necessary steps for them to be advanced to their highest potential, provided that the quality and efficiency is maintained, al-Hajri added.
