Barwa Bank has formed a strategic partnership with Allianz Takaful, - QFC Branch, a major player in the family takaful segment, to become the first Islamic lender to offer a comprehensive range of Shariah compliant unit linked takaful products to customers.
Commenting on the partnership, Barwa Bank general manager (Banking) Keith Bradley said: “We are very pleased to have partnered with one of the leading takaful providers to provide customers with a suite of products which enable them to save, whilst at the same time enjoying very high levels of protection for their families.  This is a big step forward in the development of Barwa Bank’s wealth management proposition and enables us to provide sophisticated takaful products to our customers.”
The new product range includes children education, retirement, life takaful (life insurance / protection) and lumpsum investment plans.
Barwa Bank customers can select best suited products based on their current and future financial needs with the help of expert advice from a professional dedicated relationship manager.
Barwa Bank head (Products and Sales) Samar Kidwai said: “The wide range of savings and investment plans embedded with life protection are expected to nurture specific financial and life takaful needs. We believe our premium customers will surely benefit from our new range of takaful products”.
Barwa Bank customers can choose from an extensive range of more than 45 Shariah compliant funds that represent various risk profiles, asset classes, and geographies to invest their savings.
“It is also an inclusive opportunity; customers can opt for these products with savings as low as QR750 a month, for regular savings plans, and QR54,000 for the lump sum investment plan,” Barwa Bank said.
The products are denominated in riyals and dollars and are offered to Barwa Bank customers through Barwa Bank Prestige banking relationship managers.
