Best Buddies Qatar (BBQ) has taken an active role in enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by organising events to mark the International Day of People with Disabilities on December 3.
One of the events was held at the Landmark mall for approximately 50 students from the Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs, the Moza bint Mohamed Primary Independent School for Girls, the Qatar Autism Centre and the Khalifa Independent Primary School for Girls. Students visited different sections in Carrefour supermarket where they observed the processes of bakery and also toured a number of shops including Virgin Megastore.
In another event, BBQ participated in a parade for people with disabilities along the Doha Corniche with representatives of all organisations dealing with persons with special needs jointly walking for the common mission to improve the life of the people and to involve volunteers into movement.
