Kerala Sahithya Academy president Perumbadavom Sreedharan addressing children of Bhavan’s Public School, Al Wakrah, yesterday
The necessity of inculcating the human values and bonds prevalent during the ancient days in today’s students was highlighted by a noted novelist from Kerala at a gathering organised by Bhavan’s Public School in Kerala, yesterday.
President of Kerala Sahithya Academy Perumbadavom Sreedharan said this while addressing children of the Bhavan’s Public School in Wakrah yesterday.
In the interaction with the students, the novelist told them to develop such values as brotherhood and friendship regardless of their religious and language differences.
On a query from students, the writer explained that it was the encouragement that he received during his school days that gave him the confidence to develop his skill in writing.
Later, the school management honoured the visiting dignitary with a memento, which was presented to him by the institution’s managing committee vice-president R O Abdulkhader.
Committee president Saleem Ponnambath presented Sreedharan with a caricature of the writer, created by the school’s art teacher Prahladan.
Earlier School principal Dr G Manulal welcomed the gathering.
The managing committee general secretary P N Baburajan proposed a vote of thanks.
