HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Emiri Diwan Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah yesterday met Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihiko Noda.
The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Japanese prime minister.
Al-Attiyah also conveyed the condolences of Qatar to the Japanese government and people on the  earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March.
The Japanese Prime Minister reciprocated the greetings of the Emir and the Heir Apparent and wished Qatar further progress, development and prosperity.
Yoshihiko also praised the relations between the two countries and the bonds of friendship.
The Japanese prime minister appreciated the assistance provided by Qatar to Japan in the aftermath of  the earthquake disaster. He expressed special thanks to the Qatari leadership and the people.
He also expressed Japan’s determined desire to strengthen bilateral relations.
Al-Attiyah and the Japanese prime minister discussed aspects of co-operation between the two countries and ways to develop relations in various fields.
They called for more joint projects, especially those related to economic, commercial and industrial sectors.
The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister.
Separately yesterday, the  Deputy Prime Minister met the member of Japan’s Parliament Toshihiro Nikai .
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of Toshihiro Nikai and his contributions to further strengthening Qatari-Japanese relations.
Toshihiro Nikai thanked the leadership and people of Qatar for their support to Japan after the tsunami catastrophe .
The meeting was by the former member of the parliament Tdahiko Eto’o and the delegation accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister.
