US troops assess the damage to an armoured vehicle of Nato-led International Security Assistance force at the site of a suicide attack in Jalalabad province. At least six ISAF servicemen were wounded after a suicide car bomb attack on the ISAF convoy, said Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor.

At least 10 people, including civilians, were wounded yesterday when an army vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, police said.

“The incident occurred in police district 12 when the army officers were on their way home. Ten officers and civilians nearby were injured,” said Hashmat Stanikzai, Kabul police spokesman.

Separately, a suicide attacker targeted an international forces’ convoy in the eastern province of Nangarhar, and casualties were feared, according to Hazrat Hossain Mashraqiwal, the provincial police spokesman.

The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the attack in Nangarhar. They said it was a suicide bombing.
