Qatar yesterday expressed its condolences to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain who lost a number of their soldiers taking part in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen, which aims to bring security and stability to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement,  expressed Qatar’s solidarity with the UAE and Bahrain and their people. The Ministry also expressed Qatar’s support to all measures taken by the UAE and Bahrain to protect the lives of its soldiers who are carrying out their duty in Yemen.
The Ministry conveyed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the soldiers.
Also yesterday, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad a-Thani held a conversation via telephone with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan to express his condolences on the martyrdom of the UAE soldiers.
The Emir also expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs.
The UAE earlier said 45 of its soldiers engaged in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen were killed in an accidental explosion.
In what was the deadliest day for the coalition since it was formed in March, Bahrain said five of its soldiers were also killed.
The Yemeni government said an “accidential explosion” at an arms depot at a military base in the eastern province of Marib killed the Emiratis.
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed  underlined in a tweet his country’s “determination” to continue supporting the Yemenis against “injustice and aggression”.
