Doha College has launched its latest social media campaign with mascot Dash the Dolphin in order to raise awareness of and increase financial support for its new campus, which is scheduled to open in 2016.

The eight-week campaign is a competition based on Dash the Dolphin’s summer excursions around the world. Anyone can take part in the competition - parents, students, staff or even members of the local community.

Participants must correctly guess where Dash has been on holiday and “like and share” the post on Facebook to be entered into the weekly draws and have the opportunity to win a host of prizes. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness about and build financial support for Doha College’s new campus.

Every week, participants could win a vast array of prizes, including Centrepoint shopping vouchers, a weekend stay at Radisson Blu Hotel, a range of Evolution Sport trial sessions, hair and beauty treatments from Desert Princess Hair & Beauty Salon, BMW test drives and a weekend stay at W Doha Hotel.

Claire Griffiths, marketing manager at Doha College, said: “Our Dash around the World competition is proving popular and, with weekly prizes, offers almost instant results. We are very grateful to our sponsors, Radisson Blu Hotel, Centrepoint, Desert Princess, BMW Qatar, W Doha Hotel and Evolution Sport, for their kind donations.”

The new campus, which is expected to open in 2016, will be able to accommodate more than 2,000 students from pre-school to sixth form. Not only will the new campus increase the college’s student numbers by at least 30%, but also provide students with a modern, high-tech and flexible learning environment. The school will continue to follow the British curriculum and be co-educational.

Each Sunday, three different pictures of Dash on his travels are posted on Doha College’s official Facebook page. Participants have to guess what famous city he visited from the landmarks displayed in the background. In order to be entered into the prize draw, participants must guess all three pictures correctly and “like and share” the post with their friends, which will ultimately raise awareness.

One winner will be announced every Thursday and each Sunday a new set of pictures will be uploaded. The grand finale will take place on October 31.
