The most popular saxophone player of Europe is teaming up with the DJ set of Tomas Van Klaveren (TVK) and Edmond Eisenberg — also known as Sound of Monte-Carlo — to rock the party at Ritz-Carlton Doha’s seaside on the last day of this month.
Chris Sharp, an established performer throughout Europe, is highly regarded as one of the most entertaining saxophonists around. Entering bars and clubs internationally, he consistently receives five-star reviews about his energetic personality and unique stage presence.
His equipment includes a custom-built sax complete with LED lights and an electronic sax that produces sounds from the biggest dance hits in the past 30 years. Wireless microphone technology enables versatility to perform on stage or amongst the crowd connecting with the audience on a personal level.
Having studied at two of the UK’s most prestigious institutes (Trinity College of Music and Leeds College of Music) under the tuition of Jim Corey (saxophonist for Jamiroquai), Chris is professionally trained with the ability to adapt to any musical situation instantaneously.
The saxophonist began studying the saxophone at the age of 14. After receiving full marks for a grade 8 performance, at the age of 16, he studied jazz. Throughout his years at college he was seen practicing up to as much as 10 hours in a day.
Chris holds many residencies in London and throughout Europe. As well as performing at many celebrity parties and events filmed for television, he is currently engaged in work in exclusive and private members clubs, student parties, hotels, casinos and restaurants, playing genres from Commercial House to Live Lounge Jazz and Pop covers.
The TVK-Edmond Eisenberg duo of Sound of Monte-Carlo on the other hand is one of the most popular music production duos around. TVK began music at the age of 7, playing the piano and studying general theory.
With over 8 years of experience, Sound of Monte-Carlo has had a tremendous and mounting success, performing at prestigious venues such as Sea Lounge Monte-Carlo, Vendôme (London), High Club (Nice), Papagayo (St. Tropez), ByPass (Geneva), Supperclub (Amsterdam), L’Arc (Paris), The Club (Milano) and many more.
They are now renowned worldwide for their deep and joyful sound, mixed by TVK, who is regarded as one of most favourite deep house artists of the moment.
Their collaboration is characterised by the association of numerous instruments (sampler, synthesiser, bass, guitar, violin) including singing by Edmond Eisenberg, with the finest electronic sounds selected by TVK and his ability to play wind instruments.
This alchemy is stressed by the contrast between a more classical approach and electronic music brought together by the talent of the two artists.
Edmond Eisenberg is a rising musician and artist. He began piano at the age of 4, followed by the violin at 6. He then proceeded to learn bass, percussions, guitar, and singing. His musical horizon, going from classical to electronic music can be felt through this project. He has won numerous music contests as well.
TVK and Edmond Eisenberg’s songs are supported by famous DJs such as John Dahlback, Axwell, Bob Sinclar, Alex Gaudino, DJ DLG, Jerry Ropero, Arias, Sacha Muki, Jean Elan, Tristan Casara, Fab De Petrini, Solly Smith, Lorenzo di Grasso and many others.
They performed during the 2010 Monte-Carlo Grand Prix besides Bob Sinclar and Sub Zero, but have also performed for fashion shows and after-parties for D&G, ICE WATCH and others.
The warm-up to the party at Ritz-Carlton will be provided by DJ Alexa Rich. Her sound is best described as “party music” and varies from commercial, vocal to progressive house with a touch of electro, nu disco, deep house, minimal techno and just about everything in between.
DJ-ing since 2007, she started with techno house parties leading to the biggest clubs and events around the world. She is currently active in producing, promoting, audio imaging, while maintaining a profile as an International DJ.
